Rotating Multisig Signers

  1. Visit the Gnosis safe site and connect a wallet that is on the multisig in question. Go to Settings → Owners

    2. Example: https://gnosis-safe.io/app/eth:0x21DE18B6A8f78eDe6D16C50A167f6B222DC08DF7/settings/owners

  2. On the right side of each owner row, there will be a button that says Replace owner (when connected to Gnosis with a signer wallet). Select this button on the address that needs to be removed.

  3. Fill out the Owner name and Owner address fields. Owner name is stored locally on your browser. Owner address is the address to be rotated into the multisig. Click Next.
  4. Verify the transaction details visually (the correct owner is being removed and the correct owner is being added). You can also click Simulate to make sure the transaction will succeed. Then click Submit.

Notes

  • At Step 4, you can edit the nonce in the Advanced parameters section if needed.
  • When submitting multiple “swapOwner” transactions like this at once, be sure to notify that signers who are being removed should not sign these transactions. In situations where a removed signer has already signed a future transaction, it will be corrupted and need to be re-submitted.
